Regular Town Board Meeting

Janice Johnson called the meeting to order.  The Pledge of Allegiance
was recited and all Board Members were present.  The Clerk verified
that the meeting was published and posted.  

The Clerk read the minutes from the previous meeting.  Scott Khalar
made a motion to approve the minutes as read.  Sherrie Craft seconded
the motion and motion carried.

Rose Graves read the Treasurer’s Report.  Sherrie made a motion to
accept the report as read.  Scott seconded the motion and motion
carried.

There were no county representatives present.

Scott made a motion to pay the town’s bills.  Sherrie seconded the
motion and motion carried.  

There was no correspondence from Board Members.

Janice Johnson would like to thank George Kornstad for the repair work
done on the roof of the old town hall.

Todd Carlson gave the Fire Department Report of 1 medical call, 1 lost
helicopter and 2 motorcycle accidents.

Scott gave a the Roads, and Equipment Report.  One minor breakdown on
the backhoe.   Crew is done with gravel and will be installing
culverts.  The will continue grading and mowing.  Somebody is tearing
up some of the town’s roads and Scott asked for people to keep an eye
out for people responsible.

Sherrie stated there was nothing to report for the Grounds, Building
and Recycling.

There were 4 dog calls for the month of July and no activity for the
cemetery.

Willark Kiefer gave the Comprehensive Planning Committee Report.

Sandy Carlson’s request to paint a mural has been postponed until the
next meeting as she was unable to attend.

Snowplowing fees for private driveways were discussed.  After
discussion Sherrie made a motion to increase the fees by $25.00. 
Scott seconded the motion and motion carried.  The Board will also
require a red flag be placed by the driveways that wish to be plowed
during the fall and spring when the ground is soft.  The Clerk will
run an ad in the Northwoods and the Treasurer will mail out the forms
to people on the list from last year.  

The Minnesuing Road Contract with Lake Nebagamon was discussed.  The
Village of Lake Nebagamon has made a minor change in the wording of
the agreement.  Sherrie made a motion to approve and sign the
contract.  Scott seconded the motion and motion carried.

Prices for LP gas were discussed.  Ferrel Gas is offering the cheapest
price through the winter.  Scott made a motion to continue purchasing
LP from Ferrel Gas.  Sherrie seconded the motion and motion carried.

There was no old business.  There was no new business.

The next Regular Town Board Meeting will be Monday, September 8, 2008
at 6:00 p.m. (due to the election the following day) at the Highland
Town Hall.

Scott made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Sherrie seconded the
motion and motion carried.

Meeting adjourned.
